If your regular pool company cannot figure out the leak, call a pool leak detection specialist.
That does not mean your pool company did anything wrong. Pool service and pool leak detection are different jobs. Your pool service company may be very good at cleaning, chemicals, filters, and routine maintenance. But leak detection usually requires a different process, different tools, and a different way of thinking.
What a Specialist Can Do
- Dive the pool and inspect underwater
- Check the skimmer and light niche in detail
- Test fittings and evaluate drains
- Pressure test plumbing lines
- Use acoustic listening equipment for underground leaks
- Use trace gas when listening is not enough
- Document findings with photos and a written report
A regular pool service company may be the first one to notice the problem. They may see the pool needs water too often, the autofill is running too much, the chemicals are not holding, the pump is pulling air, or the spa is draining down. That information is valuable.
At LSL, we work with pool service companies often. We are not there to replace them. We are there to answer the leak question so the homeowner, pool company, or repair contractor knows what to do next.
