Yes. A written report with photos is the professional standard for pool leak detection, and you should expect it from any company you hire.
A verbal explanation at the pool deck is helpful but incomplete. People forget details. They forget which line failed, where the skimmer leak was confirmed, what the dye test showed, or what the technician said about the next step. A written report gives the customer, realtor, property manager, HOA board, or repair contractor something they can review, share, and act on.
At Leak and Subsurface Locators, every evaluation results in a report with photos. Photos may include underwater observations, skimmer conditions, light niche findings, fitting areas, equipment pad leaks, plumbing conditions, prior epoxy patches, and other relevant observations. Not every leak photographs perfectly -- some are confirmed by dye movement, pressure behavior, or trace gas -- but the report explains what was done and what was found regardless.
If a company does not provide photos and a written report, ask why. Documentation protects the customer and gives the repair contractor the information they need to work efficiently.
