Do not compare only by price.
Price matters, but it is not the only thing that matters. Compare licensing, insurance, experience, process, documentation, communication, and whether the company actually specializes in leak detection.
What to Compare
- Do they dive the pool?
- Do they pressure test plumbing?
- Do they check lights, skimmers, fittings, drains, equipment, and underground lines when needed?
- Do they provide a written report with photos?
- Can they explain what they found in plain language?
- Are they licensed and insured?
- Do they specialize in leak detection or is it a side service?
Also ask how they handle difficult pools. Pebble finish pools, mosaic tile pools, old repairs, shell leaks, water features, spas, and commercial pools can be harder to evaluate. A good company will be honest about what can and cannot be confirmed.

For HOA, condo, commercial, or real estate work, make sure the company can provide proper documentation, license and insurance information, and communication with the people involved.
