Start by asking simple questions.
Questions to Ask Before Hiring
- Are you licensed? Are you insured?
- Do you dive the pool?
- Do you pressure test plumbing when needed?
- Do you provide photos and a written report?
- Can you explain your process step by step?
- Do you understand pool lights, skimmers, fittings, drains, shell leaks, plumbing leaks, and equipment issues?
Red Flags
A red flag is someone who acts like every leak is simple. Another is someone who gives a cheap price but cannot explain their process. Be careful with anyone who wants to cut concrete, replace parts, or make a repair before the leak is properly narrowed down.
Honest Limits Matter Too
Be careful with big promises. Not every leak can be pinpointed to one tiny visible hole. Pebble finish, mosaic tile, shell leaks, old repairs, and waterproofing issues can be difficult for any professional. A good leak detection company should be honest about those limits.
At LSL, we are licensed, we dive when conditions allow, we follow a system, we provide reports with photos, and we explain what we found. That is what to look for.
