It depends on what the pool is telling us.
We do have a system, but we do not ignore the symptoms. If the customer says the pool only loses water when the pump is running, that points us toward the pressurized side of the system, equipment, returns, or plumbing. If the pool loses water with the pump off, that can point more toward the shell, skimmer, light, fittings, drains, or static water level.
We usually start by listening to the customer, looking at the water level, checking the equipment, and walking the pool area. Then we decide what needs to be tested first.
How the Pool Guides the Decision
- Water stops at the light level - we pay close attention to the light
- Spa drains overnight - we look at the spa system
- Equipment pad is wet - we start there
- Pool loses water fast with nothing obvious - pressure testing and detailed isolation
Why This Matters
The H.U.N.T.E.R. Method is about narrowing the search instead of guessing. We test in a way that makes sense for that pool, not just the same way every time.
